Maple Walnut Scones

Preparation Time

Serves10 - 12 scones

3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup walnuts finely chopped
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup maple syrup
2/3 cup butter chilled
1 cup milk

1. Thoroughly combine the flour, walnuts, baking powder and salt.

2. Cut in the butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.

3. Stir in the milk and maple syrup and work into a soft dough.

4. Knead the dough 5 or 6 times.

5. Roll it out 1/2 in thick and about 7 inches round.

6. Cut the dough into 10 - 12 wedges and place on a greased baking sheet.

7. Bake in oven preheaded to 425F until golden, should be about 15 - 18 minutes.
