|2 cups||chicken stock|
|1/2 cup (1 stick butter)||drippings from roast chicken or butter|
1. Over medium heat, combine drippings from roast chicken OR 1 stick of butter and whisk together. Add salt.
2. Add chicken stock slowly by whisking into mixture. Allow it to thicken each time before adding more stock. Whisk continuously. If you do not have chicken stock, you can substitute two chicken bouillon cubes in boiling water for the stock.
3. If needed to thicken, you can wisk together additional amounts of cold water and flour a few tablespoons at a time and add to the gravy. To avoid lumps, it is important to combine the flour with cold water before adding it to the simmering gravy.
